Reporters and politicians tell us it's a matter of "choice." What is it really, that is a "matter of choice"? The use and arrangement of words can be used for good or for evil. Word arrangement can be done to reflect perfect honesty or to soften the impact of the truth. This has been referred to as "newspeak."
Words and slogans can be deceiving. Careful arrangements of words are often used to disguise the real meaning of something. That tactic was used to deceive the first woman and man who occupied the earth, and it has been used effectively ever since.
I have been noticing some good sounding slogans and phrases recently in the abortion debate that deserve to be held under the magnifying glass of truth for a closer look.
What are we hearing?
"It should be a woman's choice."
"Nobody has a right to tell me what to do with my body."
"I have the right to do with my body what I want to."
There is some truth in those statements. It sounds as though someone or some force is torturing women's bodies.
"If you don't have control of your reproductive system, you can't have equality..., you can't have anything."
"To take away a woman's decision-making power over her own body is to make her an enslaved incubator."
That almost invokes my sympathy, until I understand what it means.
"I'm demonstrating for what I believe is an essential woman's right" (the right to have an abortion if she chooses).
Some politicians tell us abortion is just a "matter of choice."
These statements sound almost like good reasoning. It is a matter of choice--isn't it? Except that it involves another human being.
What is the real meaning behind these statements?
These statements really mean that those persons want it to be legal to have a doctor "inject a salt solution into the womb, into the fluid"[1] that surrounds the body inside the mother's body. When the solution is injected "the baby swallows and 'breathes' causing a slow poisoning while the baby's outer layer of skin is burnt away."[2] "The solution kills the fetus and causes, it to pass from the mother's body." [3] Whoever is performing or assisting in this procedure must then dispose of the body of this little person.
"It's a matter of choice" really means one person solely making a decision for another. It doesn't allow any choice whatsoever for the tiny, helpless person.
A "right to do with my body as I want" could also mean a legal "suction curettage." This method involves removing the fetus by suction with a vacuum aspirator, followed by scraping the uterus with surgical instruments. [4]
"It's a matter of choice" could actually mean lawfully using a loop-shaped steel knife to cut the baby's body and placenta into pieces and suck them into a jar.
A "right to choose what to do with my body" could actually mean a right to hire a doctor to use a forceps to grasp the baby's body parts, twisting them off and removing them in pieces. The spine and skull may be crushed and extracted. The baby's body pieces are reassembled to verify completion.
Having "control of my reproductive system" doesn't mean sexual purity, or refraining from fornication. It comes closer to meaning the legal right to have an "intracardiac injection" in which "ultrasound imaging is used to guide a long needle into the baby's heart causing immediate death."
It doesn't mean saying "no" to sexual encounters. It doesn't mean making responsible choices in actions that cause pregnancy. Pregnancies are the result of two persons being involved in sexual intercourse. There are dozens of decisions that can be made to give a woman control of her reproductive system and avoid becoming an "enslaved incubator." I know of no law or Supreme Court decision that says a woman must have sex. The laws of our land allow her to make choices about her body that give her control of her reproductive system.
A right to have "control of my reproductive system" really means a lawful right to control someone else without self-control over your own body.
The "newspeak" phrases in the news sound good, but they are false and deceptive.
It is nut just a matter of choice; it is tearing a baby from the mother's body and disposing of it in the garbage.
It is more than doing with my body as I please; it is asking for lawful rights to kill another person.
There is more to it than an essential woman's right; it is lawful "cruel and unusual" killing of people.
This kind of "newspeak" is raw deception. It sounds as though women's rights are being infringed upon; what they really mean is the rights to control and dispose of another person.
It is not a matter of rights to choose what to do with your body, but a legal right to choose for someone else. That is not justice!
Don't be fooled by the "newspeak" jargon, or let slogans deceive you. Reject it, and listen to God's good news!
It is a message of what Jesus did with His body to redeem women and men from the penalty of sin. Jesus Christ came to earth and submitted His body to the suffering of the cross so that we might have everlasting life. He gave His body to be tortured, scourged, beaten and crucified. While hanging on the cross, His body suffered and endured pain for the price of redemption from sin for mankind. He laid down His body and rose again, so that whosoever believeth on Him can have the hope and assurance of everlasting life.
Your body was not made for your own selfish pleasure. Your body was made to be the house where the Holy Spirit dwells. It is not God's will that you do with your body as you please, but that you present and dedicate it to God for His residence and the place from where you glorify Him.
The Bible says: "Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord" (I Corinthians 6:13b). Ungodly persons want the freedom to use their bodies for sexual relations outside marriage, but our bodies were not designed for that. It is not the will of God. "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's" (I Corinthians 6:19-20).
The world says--you have a right to do with your body as you please. That is a deceiving slogan. God says, I bought you with a price, give your body to ME.
Jesus gave His body to redeem you. In light of this great act of love, God urges you then to "present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God" (Romans 12:1).
Yes, a person does have the right to choose to do with their body whatsoever he or she wishes. However, the will of God is to give your body to God, and sacrifice it for His service.
